Dream Big! and Beyond Soccer have been working together since an early equipment donation in 2009. Following a quick phone introduction, Dream Big! CEO, Linda Driscoll, made the trip up to Lawrence from Boston with a bin full of new cleats, soccer balls and t-shirts to help out our first girls travel soccer team, the Wolves. Since then, Linda has helped thousands of girls from low-income situations across Massachusetts pursue their interests by providing them with the basic items and fees necessary to enable them to participate in sports and physical activities. Linda is a fundraising dynamo, and even has a Dream Big! Marathon team raising money for her important effort

A highlight of this partnership is the Annual Dream Big! Leadership Conference. Every June, Linda collects some of the most impressive female CEO’s, doctors, lawyers, professors and professional athletes, who speak with the middle and high school attendees – in small group settings – about the role that sport played in their career and life successes. To date, more than 75 Beyond Soccer female athletes have benefited from this opportunity @ Boston College, Simmons College and UMass Boston.

“Unfortunately, poverty can severely limit a young girl’s involvement in physical activity and sports, most of which have associated costs including program fees or the cost of equipment, uniforms and sneakers.” says Driscoll. By partnering together, Dream Big! and Beyond Soccer can have an even greater reach.
